Simple Marzipan recipe ideal for fruit cakes.
- 125 g Caster Sugar
- 125 g Icing Sugar
- 250 g Ground Almonds
- 1 x Egg
- 1 tsp Almond Extract
- Place the ground almonds, icing sugar and caster sugar in a bowl and mix together.
- Add the beaten egg and almond essence and mix well, at first with a spoon and then with your hands until it has combined into a smooth dough.
- Turn it out onto a surface dusted with icing sugar and knead until smooth.
If you are not using the marzipan immediately, wrap it in cling film and store it in the fridge.
